SEEK FIRST

Scripture Reading - Matthew 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. KJV

It is always good to remember that we have divine help from the Spirit of God. The Heavenly guidance of God’s Spirit is necessary to search for the kingdom of God while you are here on this earth. Of course the kingdom of God is the domain where God reigns as King. Many people say, “Oh Yes, and that is the Kingdom I belong to”. However, living in the Kingdom of God does not mean you are following the leadership of the King. Many people live in America but not all people submit unto the leadership of the president. Likewise, there are many Christians but fewer true followers of Jesus their Lord. When seeking first the kingdom of God it should be understood that you are looking for “God’s Way”. Not just any way but specifically “God’s way of love” based upon understanding the Principles of God’s word. The Way of God is the Way of Jesus Christ which means everything is based upon the motive of God’s unfailing love. Therefore as Matthew encourages us, we must “seek first” (not second, not third, ….not last) the Kingdom of God and add into our search the truths of “His righteousness”. This means we must understand how His Heavenly system operates in relationship to God’s great plan of salvation. We start by seeking teaching from truly anointed ministers and esteeming personal study time with God’s Word as our daily bread (devotional). Whenever someone has to seek for something it is inherently known that some effort will be needed to find it. The Lord showed us a truth in the sense that the Kingdom of God will not come looking for you, you will have to look for Him in the person of Jesus. “The Way” is studying the Holy Word of God for kingdom guidelines (principles) and then studying your heart to be sure God’s Great Spirit of Love is overflowing from within you. We know many people will boast of having God’s Love because they know it is right but showing God’s Love to others is really the ministry of the New Testament Believer. Seeking God’s message of love shows you the approval of God through the Blood of Jesus Christ to establish God’s righteousness in your mind. Once you know (understand) that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus your feelings of inferiority should vanish. This starts with purposing to do what is right by God’s Word which shows your love toward your fellowman. Not just what is convenient but rather what is right for eternity. A good decision today should still be a godly decision tomorrow so “seek first” the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Amen!
